About the Role
Port Angeles Composite is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer I to support our engineering and production teams in developing and maintaining manufacturing processes for aerospace composite components. This is an entry-level engineering role with opportunities to grow within manufacturing engineering and program management.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, able to interpret technical documentation, and comfortable working in both office and production environments. This role works closely with cross-functional teams to support efficient, high-quality manufacturing operations.
Job Summary
Port Angeles Composites is seeking a Manager, Manufacturing to lead our production operations and support our growing team. In this role, you will oversee daily manufacturing performance, manage cross-functional teams, and drive continuous improvement across composite fabrication processes. The ideal candidate is a strong leader who can balance safety, quality, delivery, and cost while building an engaged and high-performing team.
Key Responsibilities
Lead daily manufacturing operations to meet safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives
Manage, develop, and support supervisors and production teams
Establish and maintain standard work, production controls, and efficient processes
Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including yield, scrap reduction, and labor efficiency
Plan staffing levels and manage departmental budgets
Track performance metrics and analyze data to improve operations
Partner with Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Program teams to meet production goals
Communicate expectations, goals, and performance across teams
Support employee training, engagement, and retention
Job Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Business, or related field preferred
Minimum 8 years of progressive manufacturing experience, including at least 5 years in a leadership role
Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment required
Experience in composite manufacturing, aerospace, or advanced materials preferred
Strong knowledge of Lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and Six Sigma principles
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data analysis tools
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
